Sollervir is a strategy indie RPG for PC that combines tower defense elements with unit collection and roguelike progression. Players summon and combine basic units on the battlefield to form evolving teams that tackle waves of enemies across multiple chapters.
Gameplay
The core loop centers on randomly summoned basic units that players combine directly on the field. Nine unit types form the foundation: Warrior, Archer, Mage, Priest, Rogue, Spirit Caller, Soldier, Shaman, and Warrior Monk. These units level up through combat and evolve into stronger forms, with a total collection of 80 characters that includes elite units, Legend Mechas, and awakened Ascended Forms.
Each unit deals one of three damage types: Physical, Magic, or Piercing. Physical damage excels in early waves, Magic scales strongly in later stages, and Piercing offers consistent performance. Enemies possess matching defensive attributes, requiring players to adapt compositions to exploit weaknesses and bypass resistances. Battles allow pausing at any time for strategic adjustments, and units deliver active skills with distinct Korean voice lines that enhance the audio feedback during summons and combat.
Additional systems support collection and experimentation. A codex tracks all 80 characters, while a combination chart displays recipes for evolutions. Side activities include Gold Roulette and Character Pull, each with dedicated success and failure audio cues. Players encounter 171 achievements tied to these mechanics.
Game Modes
Progression follows 20 regular chapters split evenly between Part 1 and Part 2. Each chapter carries its own theme and difficulty level, with no fixed path through encounters due to random unit summons. Clearing all chapters unlocks Endless Mode, which serves as an ongoing test of long-term strategy and adaptation.
Run modifiers add variety before and during chapters. Blessing provides one of three upgrade cards after boss defeats. Devil's Bargain introduces risk-reward choices for powerful items. Voluntary Hell lets players accept handicaps in exchange for greater rewards. Dimensional Broadcast triggers unpredictable random events that can shift the outcome of any attempt.
Progression and Collection
Units advance from level 1 to level 10, unlocking new evolutions and forms along the way. The full roster spans basic summons to high-tier Legend Mechas and Ascended Forms, encouraging repeated runs to complete the codex. Achievements reward exploration of these systems, while the combination chart remains accessible for planning evolutions without leaving the current session.
Is It Worth Playing?
Sollervir suits players who enjoy strategic unit building and roguelike variability in a single-player format. The random summons and chapter modifiers create distinct experiences across runs, supported by clear damage type interactions and pause functionality for deliberate planning. Those interested in collecting and evolving a roster of 80 characters will find dedicated systems for that goal, including the codex and combination tools. The game is scheduled for PC release on Steam and remains in active development with planned post-launch updates based on player input.
