Gameplay

Enemies such as the Walker operate through a network of 15 simulated bodies linked by 28 joints, with movement generated by a Box2D crank-and-linkage system inside the physics solver. A crank turns rods and knees, producing gait that changes with every structural alteration instead of relying on pre-recorded animations. Shooting severs legs, jams knees, stretches braces, tears armor or stalls the drivetrain, causing the machine to limp, drag, collapse or attempt repairs on the spot.
The shotgun functions as a precision tool rather than a simple damage dealer. Pellet loads deliver repeated hits to plates and smaller mechanisms, while scarce explosive rounds buckle braces, strip armor or cut through larger sections. Players aim at drivetrains to halt movement, remove limbs to alter gait, or expose weak points before committing the next shell. The same physics rules apply to the environment, allowing heavy objects to be dropped onto machines or legs to be trapped in ditches and rough terrain for emergent outcomes. No two encounters follow identical patterns because the underlying mechanism responds directly to damage.
Built in C with raylib for OpenGL rendering and Box2D for simulation, the current footage shows development tools such as joint labels and solver readouts. The final version plans hand-drawn characters and machines layered over 3D backgrounds, with volumetric fog, dynamic lighting and shader-based tinting still in progress.
