Goblin Gunmaze is an action game that blends arena shooting with card-driven customization and maze navigation. Players control goblins in fast-paced matches where scavenging weapons and building loadouts determine the outcome of each chaotic encounter.
Gameplay
Matches unfold in freshly generated mazes across ten distinct environments, including torchlit caves, volcanic chambers, frozen tunnels, forests, and swamps. Every participant begins with a basic revolver and must explore to locate one of 18 available weapons that deliver damage through fire, ice, poison, electricity, or explosive effects. Players can swap weapons on the fly while pursuing stronger options scattered throughout the layout.
More than 100 cards allow extensive customization of weapons, movement speed, defenses, traps, and skills. Combinations can emphasize clever positioning or raw destructive power, and environmental cards alter arena conditions mid-match. Destructible walls open new paths or remove cover, while each player carries two hidden traps that activate only for opponents. Eight distinct goblins provide different personalities, supported by emotes and a progression system that unlocks a ninth character after twenty consecutive wins.
Game Modes
The core experience centers on free-for-all arena matches supporting up to four players online or against bots. Victory goes to the first player to reach ten kills or the leader on the scoreboard when the four-minute timer expires. Single-player options include practicing against bots to refine builds and strategies before entering multiplayer sessions.
Layouts change with every match, creating new routes and ambush opportunities. The short match length keeps sessions focused on quick, repeatable play rather than extended campaigns.
Progression and Customization
Card collection and goblin selection form the main long-term systems. Players experiment with different card mixes to counter opponents or exploit environmental changes. The emphasis on swapping weapons and placing traps rewards adaptability over fixed loadouts. Emotes add light personality to matches without affecting core mechanics.
Is It Worth Playing?
Goblin Gunmaze targets players who enjoy short, competitive arena shooters with building elements and lighthearted goblin themes. The Early Access version already supports four-player online matches and bot practice, with planned expansions to cards and weapons over the next twelve months. No user reviews exist yet because the title has not launched. Those interested in chaotic, card-influenced gunplay and destructible environments may find value in following its development, while others might prefer waiting for the completed release and community feedback.
