All Aboard the Veil Express!
Goblins, witches, fairies, ghosts and vampires are hunted by the Inquisitors in the human world. Their refuge is a train that humans cannot see. Take your place as Conductor of the Veil Express. Attach carriages, fill them with homes and workshops, and watch every room come alive in cross-section as the train rolls on, by day and by night.
Five Houses, one train
Each House arrives with its own homes, workshops and needs, and none of them can manage alone. Goblins cook the food three Houses live on, witches enchant what the fairies need, and ghosts and vampires both rely on the fairies' Liquid Life. Keep a House happy and the next one comes aboard: 42 rooms, 14 goods, one train to fit them all.
The magic of the Veil
The Veil is the magic that keeps the Express hidden from human eyes. Happy passengers strengthen it; unhappy ones weaken it. Let the Veil run too thin, and the Inquisitors will see your train. But the Veil is also the magic you spend. Every new room costs Veil, workshops consume it, and even keeping the train moving draws on its power. Build too quickly, and you risk losing the very magic that protects everyone.
Build it your way
Add and upgrade carriages, arrange homes and workshops, and connect production chains across a side-scrolling cutaway train. Choose between six carriage types, from standard carriages to triple-deckers, and place your own staircases. Name your train and pick its livery. Along the way, families ask for shelter, merchants offer trades, and the train travels through eight realms, from misty marshes to frozen peaks.
Take on five different journeys
Every journey asks you to rethink how the train works, from the rooms you build to the needs you must meet.
The Longest Journey: the classic. Expand and upgrade your train as you bring the Five Houses together, then choose one of five endings, from a witches' sanctuary to a goblin empire.
The Night Veil: a harder road. Face seven cruel lands under a polar night, harsher environments, passengers who keep asking for more, and a much longer train to build.
Separate Ways: a challenge. Each House keeps to its own carriage, with no carriages to buy or upgrade. Limited space makes every room count.
The Lost Carriages: a challenge. Start with a broken train, then make sense of the lost carriages that join every six days, half built and half full of strangers. Harsher environments, no carriages to buy, and nothing can be demolished.
Sandbox Express: every House aboard and every room available from the first day. No goals and no ending: build the train you want.
