StrongGirls Tactics is a single-player turn-based tactical RPG developed as an indie title for PC. Players wash ashore in Valdheim with no memory and join a princess in hiding to reclaim her kingdom from rival jarls. The core loop revolves around leading a squad of women whose strength grows visibly and permanently as they level up and bond with the player character.
Gameplay
Combat takes place on a grid where positioning, terrain, and the weapon triangle of swords, axes, and lances determine outcomes before any attack lands. Units can double attack when they outspeed an opponent by a sufficient margin, and every exchange allows for counter-attacks. A full combat forecast displays damage, hit chance, and critical strike probability in advance, removing uncertainty from the decision-making process. Nineteen distinct classes each bring unique abilities and passives that shape squad composition and tactics across encounters.
Between fights, players manage a village on a week-by-week basis. This includes constructing and upgrading buildings, training units, running an arena, and operating shops. Time spent outside of battle also involves dating the eighteen girls in the roster. Each has her own story arc, birthday, voice lines, and personal events that deepen bonds. Stronger bonds directly contribute to greater muscle growth, which appears in battle sprites, portraits, and narrative moments. The progression system tracks standard stats such as HP, attack, defense, speed, skill, luck, movement, arcane, and mind, with visible physical changes reflecting every gain.
Game Modes
The game centers on a single-player 25-chapter story campaign. Players advance through the narrative while balancing combat, village management, and relationship building. Permadeath is available as an optional setting for those who prefer classic tactics rules or a more forgiving experience. No separate multiplayer or competitive modes exist. All content unfolds within the campaign structure, where choices in dating and training influence both story outcomes and combat effectiveness over the full playthrough.
Story and Characters
Eighteen girls form the playable roster, each with dedicated story arcs that players can pursue in a single run. Dialogue is fully voiced, and weekends spent together restore motivation while unlocking deeper trust and new scenes. The central premise ties player actions to the women's visible strength gains, making the power fantasy belong to the characters rather than the protagonist alone. The 25-chapter campaign integrates these personal threads with the larger conflict against the five jarls.
Is It Worth Playing?
StrongGirls Tactics appeals to players who enjoy classic tactics RPG systems combined with a distinctive progression hook. The alpha currently offers eight of the planned twenty-five chapters, with regular updates adding new content. Those drawn to grid-based combat, meaningful squad customization through classes and bonds, and a story-driven single-player experience will find the core loop intact even in its current state. The game targets fans of the genre who value visible character development and relationship mechanics alongside tactical depth. As development continues toward a Q4 2026 release window, interested players can track progress through official channels for the latest playable builds.
