記帳戦隊 is a turn-based tactics game in the strategy, indie, and simulation genres for PC. Players command the Chojirikai, an organization branded as evil, against the justice-seeking Kichou Sentai in a conflict centered on ledgers, procedures, and battlefield decisions.
Gameplay
The core loop revolves around positioning units on a side-view battlefield and managing enemy actions through specific commands. As Tsukasa, the field commander, players direct Field Staff types including Melee, Defender, Elite, and Ranged units along with the stamp ogre Inki and Tsukasa himself. The opposing Kichou Sentai features Oboro striking in front while Rei maintains a ledger behind her. This creates a two-beat rhythm where Oboro attacks and Rei's ledger records the results. Players counter by using Tsukasa's POST action to write an enemy's move into the ledger, advancing the Settlement gauge. When the gauge fills, SETTLEMENT restores one ally's losses completely, or half when used on Tsukasa. Rei's ledger advances on strikes or shields, and six entries trigger Oboro's finisher Kasumi Issen. Inki applies the RECEIVED STAMP to halt an enemy for three turns, though a nearby Sentinel redirects the effect. The ledger remains impartial, recording only what occurs. Before each enemy phase, players may undo their last move to refine positioning.
Game Modes
The game consists of three episodes that expand the battlefield size and introduce new elements. Episode 1 takes place in the Back Alley on an 8x6 grid with an 18-turn limit. Rei arrives as reinforcement to start the two-beat attacks, and no Inki is available, requiring players to stay out of reach. Episode 2 occurs at the Branch Perimeter on the same 8x6 grid with a 24-turn limit. Rei starts on the field, and a Sentinel positions beside Oboro. Episode 3 unfolds on the Plain with a larger 10x8 grid and no turn limit. Waves of upgraded robots approach from behind, Muzanki appears on turn 5 with reinforcements on turn 7, and Muzanki uses MIST RECKONING: SIX CHAIN once per battle. These episodes form a standalone first chapter of the larger conflict.
Story and Setting
The narrative places players in command of the Chojirikai, formerly members of the Kichou Sentai who were branded monsters by standardized procedure. They formed the Reconciliation Society to settle judgments by force after refusing to expose protected identities. Justice in this world quantifies threats through ledgers, yet the system can label individuals evil without full facts. Battles occur between former allies, highlighting personal connections on opposing sides. The artwork, including portraits, face cards, cut-ins, and video, comes entirely from the development team's own production and inspection.
Is It Worth Playing?
記帳戦隊 suits players who enjoy turn-based tactics with asymmetric mechanics and a focus on resource management through ledgers and stamps rather than standard attacks. Its premise of commanding the opposing force against sentai heroes offers a distinct perspective on justice and procedure. The three episodes provide a complete short campaign with increasing complexity in grid size, reinforcements, and special abilities. Those drawn to indie strategy titles that emphasize careful positioning, gauge tracking, and undoing moves for precision will find the systems engaging. As a recent standalone release with team-created visuals, it appeals to fans seeking original tactical experiences without reliance on established franchises.
