Continue your journey from Southampton with the Wessex Main Line from Just Trains.
This route extension continues the journey featured in the South Western Main Line: Southampton – Bournemouth route. Adding 36 miles to the original route this includes the direct route between Redbridge and Romsey as well as the line to Romsey via Eastleigh and Chandlers Ford.
This extended route is full of landmarks for railfans to spot as they drive by notable stations, junctions, crossings, tunnels and signal boxes. All weaving through picturesque British countryside. Look out for Wilton Junction where the LSWR and former GWR routes meet, the now disused Quidhampton Quarry, Salisbury Station complete with the Grade II listed Brunel passenger buildings, Salisbury Cathedral featuring Britain’s tallest spire, the Royal Naval Armaments Depot, Test Estuary, the giant Eastleigh Yard area, as well as the nearby Eastleigh Works and Training Depot.
You will enjoy these sights and many more as you take on ten challenging Career scenarios on the route. These include a mix of freight scenarios with the Class 66 that use the various yards and lineside industry on the route, and passenger services where you will take the controls of the Class 159, Class 166 and more across this busy route. Free Roam and Quick Drive scenarios are also included allowing you to explore the detailed scenery at your leisure.
