Jakin Boaz is an exorcism drawn in ballpoint pen.
Pontevedra, 1 August 1999. Humberto has no job, he owes money, and on 1 September he will be thrown out. Shut in his room, he builds a devil of wire and bandages to sell for a little air. While he finishes it he has to sleep, eat, and not run out of inspiration. Honey, the radio, tobacco, and the I Ching mark the passing days.
When the devil is done, the door opens onto the old town: Calle de la Amargura, the Bar Alma, Calle Real. On 11 August there is a solar eclipse. The city Humberto thinks he sees and the city under his feet are no longer the same.
Every line is drawn by hand, frame by frame, in pen and paper.
